We'll probably pick up football coverage of our boys next year on JC Sports as they join the Thomas Jefferson boys at Simonsen for some Freshmen Jay Football. Although we're not done here yet. We'll likely pick up coverage of the Lewis and Clark 8th Grade Track Team this Spring. Stay tuned.

Game Time has changed for today's game!

It is the final game of the season and hopefully there won't be to many that miss the first part of it. I just found out that the time for today's game has changed to 3:30pm today.

The website and online schedule still show 4pm, but the JC Activities hotline states 3:30pm. I called Lewis and Clark to check which was correct and they stated that the game time has changed to 3:30pm.

Google Calendar

Are you a Google user. If so, you may want to subscribe to the following Google Calendar.

Lewis and Clark 8th Grade Schedule

More on Media Day

Equipment checkout took place this morning at the Lewis and Clark Middle School.

Coaches from Lewis and Clark 8th Grade, Thomas Jefferson 8th Grade, and the Freshmen coaches from Simonsen were introduced.

Coaches mentioned that practice starts the first day of school (8/20). Practice will run from approximately 3:15pm to 6:00pm each day, so parents should expect to pick their child up at approximately 6:15pm.

As all the football staff throughout the JC Public School System play a part in the Jays Football Program, there will be times when the 8th Grade Coaching Staff will have to be out of town on Friday to scout other Varsity teams. As a result there will be some practices that will take place on Saturday in place of the Friday practice. These will run from 8:00am to 10:00am. As scouting needs can change at the last minute, coaches do not have a schedule of when Friday practice will be moved to Saturday. They hope to know a week in advance.

Coach Gschwender mentioned that all scheduled games except for the one against Rolla will have both "A" and "B" team games.

It was mentioned that the goal is to win the "A" games, so unless we are blowing the other team off of the field not everyone will get to play in the "A" games. With the "B" games the coaching staff tries to make sure that everyone gets some playing time.

Additional information (see below) was handed out regarding Media day.

Media Day

We will take a team picture on Saturday, August 11th at 10:00am at Adkins Stadium. This photo is for our varsity program sold at all home games. The players need to be there at 9:45am so we can hand out jerseys before the picture.

Parents - please fell free to bring your cameras and come on down to the field with us. You are welcome to take team and individual pictures until we collect the jerseys.

We will need $10 for insurance and physicals will need to be handed in on the day of pictures or on the first day of school. PHYSICAL AND $10 MUST BE TURNED IN BEFORE THEY CAN PRACTICE!!!

This letter is to inform you of some very important dates that you should take adantage of so that we can get off to a smooth and successful start to the Football Season and the school year.
