The boys definitley improved through the season. It will be interesting to see how our middle school teams look as they combine to represent the 8th grade next year.

Last Game

The boys have their last game Saturday at Thomas Jefferson Middle School at 10am against the Black Team.

The Gold Team had another rough one at Adkins Stadium against the Red Team.

Reminder: Player Recognition

Just a reminder the 7th Grade Players are to be recognized at the Jays varsity game against Ray-Pec tomorrow night at Adkins Stadium. Game time is 7pm. I believe the recognition may be at half time.

A much improved Gold Team lost a close one to the Silver Team 12-7.

Next up the Gold Team takes on the Red Team again. This time the matchup will take place at Adkins Stadium at 5:30pm, next Tuesday 10/17/06. Admission $2.

If the track is being resurfaced the game will be moved to the practice field up the hill in front of the school's front parking lot.

Volunteers

Volunteers are needed during games to run the chains, down marker, and scoreboard. If you are interested please contact any of the Gold team coaches.

Football Practice

Football practice will be Monday through Friday and will last until 6:15pm.

Something often not known by parents new to the 7th grade football scene is that the boys games will consist of 5 periods. Parents often start packing things up towards the end of the 4th period thinking it is wrapping up just to find out there is another period.

Football Team Selection

7th Grade Trailblazer Football Team selection will take place on Tuesday, August 29, 2006.

3:15pm to 3:45pm Registration
3:45pm to 4:45pm Workouts on practice field
4:45pm to 5:30pm Team Selection

Times may vary based upon number of players and weather conditions.

Make sure to bring a sports physical and $10 for sports insurance.

Lewis and Clark's Open House will take place on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 from 5-7pm.

See the school site for specific times scheduled for team meetings.

The Season is Over for the Mavericks

I think the kids had fun. The season seemed to fly by.

The Mavericks take on the Panthers (Purple Team) today at 9am at TJ.

Practice

Reminder. Do to spring break and the next game not being until April 1st, the boys will have practice tomorrow night (3/21/06) and will not have practice again until a week from Thursday (3/30/06).

Reminder: Pictures Tomorrow

Pictures are tomorrow before the game. I believe the Coach wanted everyone there at 11:15am. The game starts at noon on Court 2 at Thomas Jefferson Middle School.

Last week the boys played a double header as a result of a team dropping out. That team is back in. The result is that the boys will not have a game this Saturday 2/18/06.
